Overnight in-home care — FirstLight Home Care of the South Hills Canonsburg, PA · Clients in the South Hills and northern Washington County $17.00/hour to start · Overnight shifts This opening is for overnight work in a private residence, not a facility and not a day-shift route. You arrive in the evening, remain in the home through the night, and leave in the morning. The client is usually an older adult who needs someone present after dark: help with toileting or transfers, a check if they get up, and a calm person in the house until morning. Nights are quieter than days. You are not running errands or cooking full meals. You are there so they are not alone and so the written overnight plan is followed. What an overnight looks like Be in the home for the full assigned block (typical examples are 8 or 12 hours; exact window is set per client). Help with the evening and morning routine when it is on the plan: wash-up, pajamas or dressing, toileting, incontinence care, getting in and out of bed. Assist with walking or transfers if they get up during the night; use a walker or wheelchair if that is how they move. Give medication reminders only, at the times on the plan. This is not skilled nursing. Do light, quiet household tasks tied to the night (linens, bathroom wipe-down, kitchen left in order) if the plan includes them. Stay reachable in the home. Some clients sleep most of the night; others need several assists. Follow that person’s plan—do not treat it as an unsupervised sleep-if-you-want assignment unless the office has written it that way. Note anything off (fall risk, new confusion, skin, breathing, refusal to stay in bed) and contact the local office. Support is from this area, not an out-of-state call center. Clock in and out on our app and leave a short overnight note. No facility floor. No day-shift companion calendar. The work is nights in one house at a time. Schedule Overnight blocks on weeknights and weekends as cases are added. We match by how close you live to the client and which nights you can actually cover. A reliable car is required; you report to the client’s address, not a central building. Pay and extras $17.00 per hour to start Paid orientation and paid skills training before you take a case Mileage when you travel for the assignment 401(k) with match Health insurance once you meet eligibility Local office backup during the night Minimum to be considered Authorized to work in the United States Current driver’s license, auto insurance, and a dependable vehicle Pass Pennsylvania home-care background checks and a drug screen Read a care plan, write a short visit note, and speak clearly with families and the office Physically able to help with mobility and personal care at night Willing to stay in a client’s home for the full overnight block you accept CNA, STNA, HHA, or prior overnight / live-in / family night care helps. It is not required if you are dependable, complete training, and can stay alert to the plan. Do not apply if You only want daytime hours. You cannot keep an interview appointment (in person or video) or will not tell us when you need to move it. You cannot commit to the overnight blocks you accept in this service area.
